Jeff Cayley: Valve Employees Want To Make A New Full-Fledged Half-Life For All Platforms
The Valve development team hopes that the next project of the Studio will be a full-fledged Half-Life, which will be released not only for VR but for all traditional gaming platforms, according to Jeff Cayley in the interactive book The Final Hours of Half-Life: Alyx.
According to Kayleigh, the third part of Half-Life was actually in development for several years. However, the project had to be closed due to the unavailability of the Source 2 engine. The Game had to combine procedural level generation and orchestrated elements.
The Final Hours of Half-Life: Alyx is an interactive book about Valve's work between Half-Life 2: Episode 2 and Half-Life: Alyx. It tells about several canceled projects of the company, including Half-Life 3, Left 4 Dead 3, and the RPG about Axe from Dota 2.
