Seven members of Turkey's security service died in the crash of a reconnaissance plane, Anadolu News Agency reported, citing the country's Interior Ministry.
"We were informed that we lost seven heroes, two of them pilots," Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu told reporters.
The plane had been conducting reconnaissance flights in van and Hakkari provinces since Monday, he said. According to Soylu, the last time the pilots contacted the flight control center was Wednesday evening. About ten minutes after that, the plane disappeared from radar.
