The European Commission Has Adopted A Package Of Measures To Restore Capital Markets
The European Commission (EC) adopted on Friday a package of measures to restore capital markets, designed to facilitate Bank lending to households and businesses across the EU.
"We continue our efforts to help EU citizens and businesses during the coronavirus crisis and subsequent recovery," said EC Deputy President Valdis Dombrovskis.
"Today's targeted amendments will help our businesses get the necessary funding and invest in the economy," he continued. "Capital markets are vital for recovery because government funding alone will not be enough to get our economy back on track."
The package is part of the EC's overall strategy to restore the EU economy after the coronavirus crisis. He proposes point-by-point changes to capital market rules that will encourage a greater flow of investment into the economy, allow companies to recapitalize quickly, and increase banks' ability to Finance recovery.
