Russia And Kazakhstan Have Agreed To Create A Complex For Launching Soyuz-5 Missiles

The Energia rocket and space Corporation and the Baiterek joint venture (Russia-Kazakhstan) have signed a contract to provide services for the creation of a space rocket complex for launching Soyuz-5 missiles, Roscosmos reports.

"The Baiterek project provides for the creation of the Baiterek rocket complex based on the Zenit-M ground-based space infrastructure at the Baikonur cosmodrome for launches of the promising Soyuz-5 medium-class launch vehicle, "the state Corporation reported.

The agreement on the Baiterek project was signed on Thursday in the city of Baikonur and provides for the creation of a space rocket complex based on a new-generation medium-class space rocket for launching unmanned spacecraft.

The agreement was signed by Igor Ozar, General Director of RSC Energia, and Kuat Mustafinov, General Director of JV Baiterek.

Today, July 30, 2020, in the city of Baikonur, a ceremony was held to sign an agreement on the conclusion of a contract between the Energia Rocket and Space Corporation (part of the Roscosmos State Corporation) and the Baiterek joint venture to provide services for the creation of the Baiterek space rocket complex based on a new-generation medium-class space rocket for launching unmanned spacecraft.

The agreement was signed by Igor Ozar, General Director of RSC Energia, and Kuat Mustafinov, General Director of JV Baiterek. The signing took place in the presence of the General Director of state Corporation "Rosatom" Dmitry Rogozin and Deputy Minister for digital development, innovation, and the aerospace industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan Azamat Baturaja.

The Baiterek project provides for the creation of the Baiterek rocket complex based on the Zenit-M ground-based space infrastructure at the Baikonur cosmodrome for the launch of the Soyuz-5 advanced medium-class launch vehicle.
