Harry Theoharis: Six Greek Ports Are Ready To Receive Cruise Liners Again
Greece reopened six main ports of call for cruise liners, Greek tourism Minister Harry Theoharis said on Saturday.
According to him, we are talking about the port of Piraeus in Athens, as well as the ports of Rhodes, Heraklion, Volos, Corfu, and Katakolo.
Meanwhile, Greek Maritime transport Minister Yannis Plakiotakis said earlier that the arrival of the first cruise liners in Greece is not expected until August 20.
Greek cruise ship operators do not expect bookings until September. The Greek Chamber of hotels, in turn, reported that the congestion of hotels in the country is now only a fifth of the norm.
So far, about 4.5 thousand coronavirus infections have been detected in Greece, and 206 patients have died.
