WarnerMedia France appointed its head of local Theatrical Production to the Head of the Local Productions

WarnerMedia France has appointed Stephane Queneudec as head of local theatrical production, to strengthen its French original productions team.

Queneudec, who has been at the company since 2007 as vice president for TV and SVOD sales, will manage and develop the production local, for release in cinemas and on HBO Max. He will report into Pierre Branco, the country manager for France, Benelux and MENAT, and join the WarnerMedia team.

Queneudec, who worked at Studiocanal before joining WarnerMedia France, will work with Olivier Snanoudj, senior vice president of theatrical distribution, and Gregory Schuber, vice-president of marketing, data and innovation, the respective teams.

WarnerMedia and French cinema share a long history together and I'm excited to develop this next chapter, said Queneudec. Our ambition is to increase the number of French films we are producing, and we hope to continue working with the best creative talent in the business, added the executive.

Branco said the company has great ambitions to further accelerate French film production and is eagerly anticipating doing so under Stephanes leadership.

The company has also expanded its French business development team to Jordi Coleno, a senior management local production, and Josselin Grandsire, the top local producer analyst. A development director is currently being recruited.

After seven years working with the Warner Bros. film and home entertainment marketing team in the U.S., Bruno Perez, executive director of local production marketing, will continue to be responsible for local film marketing. He joins Julie Girardot, who leads the local marketing company, as well as managing director, where he's the executive assistant of the company'll continue his work.

WarnerMedia has started ramping up its production of French films in the past few years, with five films slated to be released in 2022, including Simone, a biopic of frankfurner and politician Simone Weil, and Le voyage du siecle, among other titles.

HBO Max hasn't yet launched in France due to HBOs ongoing distribution deal with local pay TV group OCS, but is expected to roll out in 2023 in the country.
