Mary J. Blige performs at Chanel No. 5's 100th Anniversary Party
The iconic fragrance and fashion brand took over Rockefeller Center on Friday for an exclusive debut party of Chanel No. 5 In the Stars, a new outdoor installation celebrating the 100th anniversary of the iconic brand.
The ice-skating rink, with a beautiful, recognizable No. 5 symbol, was enlarged with some ox-and-white shirts and oversized tweed. Guests like Jemima Kirke, Ella Hunt, Brittany OGrady, Lily Allen, Lauren Ridloff, Renee Rapp and the 30 New York City socialites and Chanel ambassadors performed with the dreadful relic of the Rockefeller Center.
The Chanel No. 5 perfume, launched in 1921 by a woman and remained one of the most famous perfumes in the world.
A woman who has a lot of perfume, says Kirke, who arrived on the red carpet in an ecru cashmere Chanel cardigan and wool pants. I love that characteristic, is he who wears the same perfume every day. It's old Hollywood. He'll be Chanel no 5.
During the party on Friday, a private affair opened to the public on Sunday, the celebration met the perfumes classic opulence. In the corner of Rockefeller Plaza, guests enjoyed tweed swans, in hand, and the plaid black and white figures, elegant yet adorned with elegant and timeless designs, brought together Chanel ethos.
I feel like Chanel is a brand I can get into my womanhood with.
As for the perfume, Ridloff said when the movie Eternals premiered Friday, I have dreams of Marilyn Monroe and thats how the fragrance makes me feel.
In the absence of Hollywood starlight, Mary J. Blige proved just the same excitement for New York's crowd as a office worker in 30 Rock opened his windows and peered out to catch the concert.
Immediately after the resurgence of the national ballet show, a Canadian figure skater, Elladj Balde performed improvising Uptown Funk on the street, emerged on ice rink stage wearing sailor's black and silver cashmere jumpsuit, singing Real Love.
The statue, which is dwarfed by the soaring building behind her, was built on the platform of 30 Rock. I'll tell you one thing, that even if we're just taking care of ourselves, I guarantee that everything will be Just Fine..
Blige performed I Can Love You and Family Affair, a tribute to Chanel, the women who wear it, and the stars.
