As Midseason Schedule is approaching, CBS Entertainment Head Kelly Kahl talks 'Ghosts&/w?s Success, More / CSI: Vegas&'s Mid-season schedule takes shape

The single-cam comedy Ghosts is far from dead at CBS, with CBS Entertainment president Kelly Kahl rising on its potential because of its rating success.

The people who discovered it really love it. So now the plan is to try to get more eyeballs on it as the season continues.

Kahl spoke to Variety ahead of the CBS winter and midseason schedule, which can be viewed in full here. CSI: Vegas is the limited series revival of CBS, but will wrap up its 10-episode run in December. But Kaha says that he is hopeful that the show will return.

I think there is a possibility that we could see more episodes next year.

The CBS schedule will rely heavily on Celebrity Big Brother going into February, when NBC will air wall-to-wall coverage of the 2022 Winter Olympics.

How are the Olympics remodeled? Its hard to program a counter program, Kahl said. But Big Brother has such loyal audience, that whenever we put on it, we get significant audience. And that has proved very good programming vehicle against the Winter Olympics in the past.

As a side note, Serith is moving off Friday nights to take over the Sunday 10 p.m. timeslot previously occupied by SEAL Team (the latter show aired the first few episodes on CBS before moving to Paramount Plus).

We had known that a Salon team would be able to play enviable short term and that we had to put something at Sunday 10 oclock, Kahl said of the SWAT movie. As if you were to leave the football season, you have more consistent start times every week, which is nice. But I would also say that Salt absolutely did yeomans duty on Friday night.

Kahl continued to say that moving the sandbox and the Robert and Michelle King drama "Evil" over to Paramount Plus was a little bittersweet.

And we have lots of outlets and we should also be able to find the best way to get the show started. And, for now, we are very excited to give our company the great opportunity to succeed. But if we can help the team out and loan some programming to Paramount Plus, then all the better.
