Ventana Sur 2020 Top Winner Me and the Beasts Acquired by Bendita Film Sales, Which Drops Trailer (EXCLUSIVE)

Last year, Luis Renarts Canary Islands-based Bendita Film Sales swooped on one of the biggest winners at Ventana Sur: The Venezuelan Nico Manzanod hotly courted debut film Me and the Beasts.

Manzanos debut, which will world premiere on Nov. 21 at Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival, came from seemingly nowhere last December to take home three of the six prizes on offer at Ventana Sur's Primer Corte pix-in-post section. a DCP copy (from NMF/Colorfront), color correction and VXF supervision (Sofia Films) and dummy checks (La Mayor.Cine).

Since film was made completely independent, the plaudits allowed the production to be completed. After world premiere, it will return to Argentina to compete at the Mar del Plasa festival in the main Latin American section.

The film follows Andres Bravo, a guitarist and singer who starts his solo career after leaving Los Pijamistas on he's leave at the Vivedad del Puerto de la Frontera, where Nicolas Maduro and his band converged to play with his own group, Suena Caracas 2016, whose social crisis raged on, Andre swam to be accompanied by two mysterious characters clad in yellow: the Beasts.

Manzano is a creative, creative and artistic man, who likes his work in colorful fictions and to reshape context in sexy films. In his short film, "Sexicycle: Mesmerizing Gun": A bright palette and minimalistic approach in composition. The trailer reinforces Manzos highly singular aesthetics, which are seen before in his long short movie, SXy Bicycle: The savage Bicyclist: Making The Dark.

The film, which was made in collaboration with Ricardo Espinoza, Alan Ohep and Manzano, is produced by Linterna. It marks Lintera's jump into cinema after producing multiple music videos and stop motion animation pieces.

We were completely seduced by the suggestive and unique universe that Nico could create with so few elements, by a portrait of the hopes, fears and illusions of Venezuelan youth seen from rabidly original perspective, said Renart.

The movie was a long negotiation, but it had many suitors, so we are very happy to announce its addition to the Bendita catalog and eagerly introduce it to our distributors.
