Imax hires Julie Fontaine, the former Netflix executive, to lead marketing
Imax has named Julie Fontaine, an executive of film, as the senior VP of marketing. In the newly created role, she will lead the company's promotional efforts across cinemas and streaming for upcoming films and prestige films.
Fontaine, who recently worked as a film publicity officer at Netflix, will report directly to the Imax chief marketing officer Denny Tu.
Imax continues to expand its global content portfolio and its filmmaker partnerships, and allowing for the IMax Experience to become a first-choice for both fans and partners alike.
In the coming year, Imax will be doing business with the companys studio, filmmaking and exhibition partners, as well as the development and development of several buzzy movies, such as Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and Top Gun: Maverick in a lot of different locations. While she worked at the New York Womens Foundation for six years, Fontaine led a team of more than 100 staff members and worked on hundreds of movies, including Bird Box, Extraction and Roma. Before that, she started working for the film industry and was currently enrolled in the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences, and is currently active in Film Independent.
