'Mob Queens& Limited Series at HBO

Variety has learned that HBO is developing a limited-series version of the Stitcher podcast Mob Queens with Lena Dunham, Ruth Wilson and Dennis Lehane.

The series tells the story of Anna Genovese (Wilson), most known as the second wife of famous crime boss Vito Genovense and was widely used in the village's drag bar scene in 1930s when she broke Cosa Nostra'd gangs and in divorce proceedings he was in trouble with her husband.

Dunham will co-write, direct, and executive produce under her Good Thing Going banner, plus Michael Cohen of Good Good Going, executive producer with Michelle Lazarus, Stitcher, Animal Kingdom, Michael Seligman and Jessica Bendinger. Seulman, Bending and Selman created and hosted the podcast.

She has previously made and starred in the BBC miniseries Mrs. Wilson and True Things, which premiered at the Venice Film Festival. She also stars in Jane Eyre, the cop drama Luther as well as the Showtime drama.

She's repped by CAA, Untitled Entertainment, Hamilton Hodell, Relevant and Jackoway Austen Tyerman.

She founded Good Thing Going in 2019 and signed a first-look deal at HBO. She has starred in the HBO dramedy series Girls, which aired six seasons on HBO, and won the Golden Globes for acting, writing and directing the series and the best comedy series Golden Ages in 2013.

Dunham has been repped by the CAA, ID and Hansen Jacobson.

He has written for the Apple series In With the Devil and The Crime.
