New York City 'The Best Reactions Praise Paul Thomas Anderson's latest film as 'God Tier' and / and/or -Impossibly Sweet 3/39

The first reaction to Paul Thomas Andersons Licorice Pizza promises a film that is based on mutament and memory-driven nostalgia-based dream dreams and a vibe.

The film follows the adventures of high schoolers, such as Alana Haim and Cooper Hoffman, in 1973, the film is set in San Fernando Valley, L.A., and stars Sean Penn, Tom Waits, Bradley Cooper and Benny Safdie.

When the social media embargo on Thursday night lifted the movie, film journalists and critics took to Twitter to share their thoughts on the prolific directors latest outing, with his words saying he would put it near Inherent Vice on PTA scale.

I would place it near Inherent Vice on the scale of PTA.

The entrepreneur who sells the mattresses for the film, Erik Davis said that he fell hopelessly in love, and didn't know what to do about it, Davis added. He's a 15-year-old e-commerce guy who'd be able to watch the movie once if not once, I have - that'll never forget...

I fell hard for the #LicoricePizza by Paul Thomas Anderson. Like PUNCH-DRUNK LOVE, it's funny & eccentric, but that guy who sells this one is a 15-year-old entrepreneur who'll never have known what to do about it. Will be one you watch several times

I can't imagine a teen selling waterbeds to impress his older Jewish crush.

Licorice Pizza is a god-tier PTA even before the 20-minute sequence where Bradley Cooper terrorizes the san fernando valley like horny cocaine godzilla in witty pantsuit. Perhaps the best movie i've ever seen about teen selling waterbeds to impress his older jewish crush is the one who has been with lilac yen and his elder crush.

The writer of Collider called the movie "dream" and "an opportunity to be entirely enveloped by the 1970s, and the comfort and charm of an impossibly sweet story about growing up and finding love." Nemiroff further praised Haim and Hoffman as his performances, saying they were a utter joy watching them dazzle in this."

I'm so glad to see him dazzle in this. is a dream! An opportunity to become fully enveloped by 1970s LA and the comfort and charm of an impossible sweet story about growing up and finding love. Alana Haim and Cooper Hoffman have my heart. What an absolute joy watching them dazz in these.

The film critic, Courtney Howard called superb and said that licorice pizza smells like a warm, funny, memory-driven coming of age fever dream, capturing if youthful possibilities fail to happen. Howard also lauded the soundtrack as killer, Haim as absolutely excellent, and Hoffman as baffling.

This is a beautiful, funny, sane, memories-driven dream. It is just based on'sickness', with realism and obscurity.

See the comment below.

With so much love, the various celebrity one-scene cameos are fun, but Cooper Hoffman and Alana Haim steal our hearts with their amazing chemistry. is Paul Thomas Anderson's lightest & joyous film he has ever made, perhaps ever.

For those who complain about something like Boogie Nights, here you go.

I love PT Anderson's films so maybe I was in the bag for Licorice Pizza but, holy shit, did I LOVE LiCorice pizza?

A beautiful, funny, warm, layered, moving love letter to growing up, romance, LA, movies, with so many wonderful characters and moments and AHHH. Perfection. Pty, so it's a big, unassuming, and beautiful note, all of which have the most beautiful and wonderful moments, such as kitty, the witty characters,, The nast.

I enjoyed the time in this strange world that PTA created. #LicoricePizza - a strange universe, despite being rich in licorice and pizza. Despite the fact that the first half is better than the second half, it's better if you've ever seen this new film.
