Netflix Renews Joe Berlinger, for three seasons, sets 'The Times Square Killer& / for December Launched
Netflix renewed the Crime Scene docuseries for three more seasons of Joe Berlinger, with the second season coming up on The Times Square Killer and premiere on Dec. 29.
The episodes will look at the danger and depravity of the titular part of New York City in the 1970s and 1980s, and how it made it possible for one to torture and murder sex workers in that area, but also the social and systemic forces that allowed what he did to go unnoticed or uncared about for so long.
As part of our deep creative partnership with Joe and the high interest in season one, we are pleased to renew the series for three additional seasons each tackling a new location with dreadful past, said Adam Del Deo, vice president of documentary series, Netflix.
Despite the announcement, there isn't yet any announcement about the subject for the fourth or third seasons.
The first season, subtitled The Vanishing at the Cecil Hotel, launched in February of this year and explored the real-life mysterious disappearance, subsequent death and conspiracy theories surrounding Elisa Lam at The Cecile Hotel in Downtown Los Angeles. The streamer says 45 million households checked out Season 1 in the first four weeks of its debut.
Berlinger, out of the Crime Scene anthology, has also the recently announced Bernie Madoff docuseries set up at Netflix.
The season hails from Imagine Documentaries and RadicalMedia in association with Third Eye Motion Picture Company.
