Gavan OHerlihy died in his 70s. He is known for playing Richie and Joania Cunninghams disappearing brother Chuck on Happy Days has died.
OHerlihy died on Sept. 15 in Bath, England, his brother confirmed to Variety that his cause of death wasn't disclosed, but his older brother said it wasnt COVID-19.
After making an appearance on the episode of the Mary Tyler Moore Show in 1973, OHerlihy broke out on Happy Days as Chuck, the eldest Cunningham sibling. He was played by three different actors, including Ric Carrott in the pilot, and Randolph Roberts for the first two seasons and in Season 2 giving way to the pejorative Chuck Cusham syndrome to describe television characters who disappeared from shows and were later written off as if they never existed.
One of OHerlihy's most recent film, Queen of the Redwood Mountains is currently in post-production.

Beyond Cormac OHerlihy, survivors include siblings Patricia, Lorcan and Olwen, and his wife Juliette and four sons Rogan, Lonan, David and Daniel.
