In the wake of the launch of its official trailer in cinema theaters around the world, Penelope Cruz and Antonio Banderas starrer Official Competition has a trailer.

Buena Vista International has exclusive access to its international subtitled version. The Spanish Cinema will release Official Competition in Spanish cinemas on Feb. 25.

The Spanish production company The Mediapro Studio and the London-based international sales agent Protagonist Pictures already dropped a 48-second teaser trailer in late July, just before the announcement of the award-winning award for Official Competition at Venice Film Festival. It world premiered in September in the world and was pretty much liked by everyone.

The now dropped official trailer is a minute longer and hit the movies main plot point: Official competition starts with the billionaire businessman deciding to make improvised movies that leave the mark on history. So he hires the Cannes Palme dOr winning filmmaker Lola Cuevas (Cruz), who oeuvre includes The Inverted Rain, Felix Rivero and Stolo opera (Argentina Oscar Martnez), and the

The films are all about the best, the most popular, whose classes are a lot apart. The 'Trouble' is the main stage, while the film is filmed by Lola, who slams the two and calls them ten-days-long, so they eat the king of ox and add humour to their faces.

Despite the immediate presence of the poodle-sized perm planted on her head, Cruz is quite obviously having a ball sending up the prodigious auteurs she has worked with over the years, writes Guy Lodge. Its essentially based on the fizzy, frenzied, physically elastic inventiveness.

Martnez generally underplays Banderas marvelous preening an unflattering self-portrait that will probably earn the greatest, broadest laughs from industry insiders and outsider alike.

Nevertheless, as Lodge notes, the film is fondled in the human sincerity of Cuevass dwindling artistic aspirations, and even outsiders are invited to feel insider. This sometimes almost surreal send-up of movie-making is the sometimes fast-surreal semblance of the filmmaker.

The directors and Andres Duprat wrote the "Official Competition", a renowned artist with the director and director of Mediapro Jaume Roures.

Laura Fernandez Espeso, Javier Mendoza, Jaime Pons at The Mediapro Studio plus Banderas, Cruz and Martnez are all executive producer, in collaboration with RTVE, TV3 and Orange Espaa.

In another suggestion, Official Competition has done robust business, with Protagonist unveiling a wide range of pre-sales in March to major distributors such as Lucky Red, Studiocanal for Germany, Madman for Australia and Hakuhodo for Japan.

IFC Films took US rights in a deal announced in October after the films successful run at not only Venice, but Toronto and San Sebastian.
