Apple And Google Are Developing The COVID-19 Contact Tracing Technology
Google and Apple wish to develop technology for doctors that will help them track the contacts of people infected with the coronavirus. The IT industry giants promise that their joint development will ensure "the privacy and security of the user."
The respective announcement has been published on the Apple official website. Both companies will gradually release elements of the new technology, one of which will reach the "operating system level."
"Since COVID-19 can be transmitted through close proximity to affected individuals, public health officials have identified contact tracing as a valuable tool to help contain its spread."
The application programming interface (API) is promised to be released in May. The API will allow the devices to interact with the Android and iOS operating systems. This interaction will be required for the operation of applications created for medical institutions.
Previously, it was reported that Apple had proposed a way to protect doctors working with COVID-19 coronavirus infection.
