Russian Trawler With Dozens Of Sailors Got A Hole Off The Coast Of Norway
A Russian ship ran aground off the coast of Norway, with dozens of sailors on Board, an informed source told Interfax.
"A trawler assigned to Murmansk ran aground near the coast of Troms (Norwegian province in the North of the country). The ship got a hole, the hold began to fill with water. However, the team managed to eliminate the leak independently, " the source said.
There are up to 40 sailors on board. Evacuation is being prepared.
A source in the marine rescue services told Interfax that the incident occurred with the fishing trawler "Kokshaisk "(the shipowner company "Agricultural production cooperative "Fishing collective farm "chapoma," Murmansk region).
"The trawler washed ashore in the Norwegian sea ( ... ) the Situation is critical, the ship is stranded on rocks, the crew is fighting for survival," he said.
The source added that there are two Norwegian fishing vessels near the Russian trawler, and "a Norwegian rescue vessel is on the way."
