The region continues to register almost 20,000 new cases and more than 700 victims daily, the World Health Organization said. The increase in the number of new cases of coronavirus infection in Europe was observed for the first time in several months, according to Hans Kluge, Director of the regional office for Europe of the World Health Organization (WHO), at a briefing in Copenhagen, which was broadcast on Facebook.

"While the European region reports a decrease in the share of global cases compared to the beginning of the year, the region continues to register almost 20 thousand new cases and more than 700 victims daily. Last week in Europe, for the first time in several months, there was an increase in the number of weekly cases, " Kluge said.

He explained that the number of new infections has increased in 30 countries over the past two weeks. In 11 of them, a particularly acute increase in the incidence was noted.
