The Iranian Authorities Issued An Arrest Warrant For Trump And Appealed To Interpol
Iranian judicial authorities have issued an arrest warrant for US President Donald Trump and more than 30 other people who, according to Tehran, are responsible for the January 3 murder of the commander of the Iranian special forces "Quds" Qasem Suleimani, reports the Associated Press (AP).
According to Tehran Prosecutor Ali Mehra, Trump and the others are charged with"murder and terrorism." But the Prosecutor did not specify who besides Trump Iran would like to arrest.
He stressed that Iran intends to seek justice even after Trump leaves the post of President.
The mayor noted that Iran has asked Interpol to issue a "red notice" - the highest priority - for the detention of Trump and those accused of murdering Suleimani.
However, according to AP, Interpol has not yet commented on the request of the Iranian authorities.
On January 3, 2020, it became known that Suleimani and the Deputy commander of the Shiite militia of Iraq, Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, were killed in Baghdad as a result of a US special operation that was conducted by the US military on the instructions of Trump.
In response to this operation, on the night of January 8, the Iranian revolutionary guard Corps launched a ballistic missile attack on the al-Asad airbase and a military facility in the area of Erbil in Iraq, where American troops are stationed.
