The New Prime Minister Of France Appointed Responsible For Breaking Out Of Isolation Jean Castex

French President Emmanuel Macron appointed Jean Custers as the country's new Prime Minister on Friday, the Elysee Palace announced.

Earlier in the day, Edouard Philippe's resignation as head of government was announced.

Castex is a high-ranking French official charged with coordinating the country's withdrawal from the isolation regime imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
