Russian Foreign Ministry: US Intelligence Is Involved In Drug Trafficking

US intelligence, which accuses Russia of colluding with members of the radical Taliban movement (banned in Russia), is involved in drug trafficking, according to the special representative of the Russian President for Afghanistan, Director of the Second Asia Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Zamir Kabulov.

"These countless kickbacks from the projects that were there, the participation of the same wonderful American intelligence officers who accuse us of something, drug trafficking. They have planes from Kandahar and Bagram that fly without checking anywhere — to Germany, to Romania. How could such a business? Every Afghan in Kabul will tell you, even the lazy one is ready to talk about this topic," Mr. Kabulov said on the Rossiya 1 TV channel.

Earlier, the New York Times (NYT) reported that Russia paid remuneration to the Taliban for killing American soldiers in Afghanistan. US President Donald Trump called the message a fiction that is directed against him and the Republican party. Later, according to the NYT, US intelligence reported to Mr. Trump that there was no direct evidence of Moscow funding the Taliban to kill the US military.
