WWE SmackDown: Vince's Mr. McMahon Appearing Clearly Not Ratings Grab

Earlier this morning, news emerged that World World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) CEO Vince McMahon had "voluntarily resigned" from his corporate duties pending an investigation into a $3 million settlement McMahon paid a female paralegal in connection with a misconduct investigation (and several nondisclosure agreements). It''s likely that McMahon''s "Mr. McMahon" persona will appear on tonight''s episode of FOX :

So out of the ashes of Vince McMahon, does it say "Mr. McMahon"? Is it a case of an ego convincing the person that they''re untouchable? Here''s a look at the WWE''s "breaking news"

On SmackDown tonight at 8 PM ET live on FOX. pic.twitter.com/6XEEDwR0Hy, Mr. McMahon will appear on CBS Tonight.

"I have pledged my total collaboration to investigate by the special committee, and I will do everything I can to assist the inquiry. I have also pledged to accept the findings and outcome of the investigation, whatever they are,," said McMahon in a statement. "I am committed to working with the independent directors to strengthen our culture and our organization, and it''s extremely important to me that we have a safe and collaborative workplace."

While the company and its board "do not expect to have any additional comments until the investigation is concluded," it said, implying that "WWE and its board of directors take all allegations of misconduct very seriously. The board of directors provided independent legal counsel to assist them in an independent review. A special committee and WWE will work with an independent third-party to conduct a comprehensive review of the company''s compliance program, HR function, and overall culture."
