Honest Movie Review for Netflix's Collision (2022)

Collision is a crime-thriller thriller from South Africa that premiered on Netflix on June 16, 2022. The French filmmaker, William Gillin, and Sean Cameron Michael all worked on the script. It''s been developed by Citizen Skull Productions, Do Productions, and Connect Channel.

Johan Greser plays Johan Greser, Tessa Jubber plays Diane Greser, Bonko Khoza plays Thando, Siphesihle Vazi plays Cecil, Palesa, Pheello Kotelo, Thamsanqa Booi, and Louis Ngcayiya play the roles in Langley Kirkwood. The film takes about an hour and 39 minutes.

Its all about making money: Collision

In Johannesburg, an army veterans daughter is stuck in the trunk of a car belonging to a notorious crime boss. This is the first scene of the Collision, and then we return to the day two days before the country is getting ready to celebrate freedom day, but someone asks if they are really free. Bra Sol (Vayu Dabula) is a local gangster.

When he tells a young boy to go to school instead of carrying a pistol, we meet the Greser family. The father, Johan Greser, is getting ready for his presentation to become the company''s chief executive, and the daughter, Nicki, is texting her boyfriend, Cecil.

There is another father and daughter who runs a business together in the city. Despite apartheid in this world, there is still internal segregation. White people are afraid of Black people, and South Africans are afraid of people coming from Nigeria, Zimbabwe, and other countries.

This is how Bra Sol had been working with Johan behind the scenes, but he had lost money and told Johan about it. Nicki is friends with Cecil and his friend Thando to make money. To make money, Cecil and Thando do small harm to Bra Sol.

When one thing causes another, Bra Sol takes Nicki and plans to sell her as a prostitute overseas. Thats when the Greser family, Cecil, and Sol start running after Nicki to get her out of his trap before something bad happens. Will they be able to catch Sol before the shipment, or is something bad about to happen to the actors?

Race to Stay Alive In movie Collision

In this video, everyone is trying to stay alive and make money. Whether Johan Greser, who wants to be promoted to the CFO by any means, or Bra Sol, who''s way of making money is incorrect, but he wants to build schools for his kids.

Cecil wants to be a musician, but he can''t find work because he is not from the United States. The downtown store owner wants to open more stores because he hasn''t had enough money left over after paying taxes to Bra Sol.

In some ways, the film tries to show the truth about Johannesburg, which is Africa''s economic center, and a draw for people who desire a better life. People from Zimbabwe, Nigeria, Malawi, and other countries migrate to the city in hopes of achieving a better life, but the population of about 10 million people has no hope.

The rich and the poor live in large white houses in the northern suburbs, while the poor, who are mostly black, are being moved to the south downtown. Due of the wealth gap, the poor feel that their few opportunities (land, employment, etc.) are being displeased by immigrants, while the poor are left alone.

The story of getting back to the movie now has all of the above elements that help build the world around them, but the plot isn''t very good. Is it a film about a fight between two powerful people or a rivalry? Is it about getting back to someone or showing the harsh truth of the city and its inhabitants? Or about how freedom is a lie?

Last Thoughts: Should You Stream It or Not?

If you want to watch more on Netflix, you should definitely skip Collision. The film has an uneven pace, a confusing plot, and bad acting, especially from the character Nicki. All of these things make it a bad movie. Even though actor Vuyo Dabula is the only thing that makes the film interesting, he cant help it off from being a movie with no plot. You may watch it if you like the actor, but you will be disappointed in the end.
