Jodie Prenger will be greeted by George Shuttleworths (Tony Maudsley) as her sister Glenda.

After the arrival of Frank Bardsley, the funeral director of George is in a terrible situation (Simon O''Brien).

As his sister Glenda departs from her cruise ship job and rejoins the Rovers quite quickly, things are expected to look up for George.

Jodie was credited with winning the BBC Talent show in 2008 and has continued to have a successful musical theatre career.

Nancy played at the West End and Miss Hannigan''s roles, as well as starred at the Haymarket Theatre in London.

Jodie, who plays Kelly in Kay Mellors the musical, played the title role in the UK theatre tour of Blackpool.

As she played Helen in the National Theatre Production of, a play that was inspired by early episodes of the show, she has dropped her toes and stowed them away.

Glenda, an entertainer, will also feature on Jodie''s own cruise ship experience, who worked as one of the four main entertainers aboard the Disney Wonder for eight months.

Jodie revealed that she would be cast in a life-long dream.

I know I am a sweet sod, but it''s been on my bucket list to be in since I was little. It''s an honor, and it''s truly a very special moment in my life. To be part of something my family and I have loved for so long. What a character, oh I have to say a whole dream part.

I can''t wait to meet you all to meet wonderful and sassy Glenda and George Shuttleworth, our sister. I already love Tony Maudsley, what a fella! Your first day on the cobbles is one of the most nerve-wracking experiences youll ever encounter, and everyone was so fantastically nice, kind, and welcoming. It was and is everything I expected, and more.

Glenda gets a fresh from the cruise ships with a whiff of exotic, quickly making best friends and enemies in equal measure.

"The character is a lot of fun and has the echoes of previous women. Jodie is a fantastic talent, and we are all very grateful to have her aboard. She has experienced a lot of pain since the moment she was released, and I believe the viewers will love her.

Glenda will appear in the United States in early August.
