As the Zacks faltering, EastEnders fans applaud the best doof doof in recent memory

The last night''s (Monday, June 20) cliffhanger ending was branded one of the finest doof doofs in recent memory and couldn''t help but notice the similarity it had to an infamous narrative that fell down in soap history.

Zack Hudson (James Farrar) was caught out for cheating on Nancy Carter (Maddy Hill) with Sam Mitchell on the last night of the episode (Kim Medcalf).

Nancy and Zacks relations escalated when her mother Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) was involved in a car accident that nearly killed her.

Nancy has a lot of difficulty with managing Lindas alcoholism, and is shedding a lot of her anger on Zack.

Zack had a drunken one-night stand with Sam, hampered by Nancy''s behavior.

While a guilty Zack tried to spooker Sam out the next morning, a spooky Sam was willing to play some drama at Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) home when she came downstairs wearing only a towel.

Sam quickly walked to the door to pick up the parcel Nancy had sent Zack, much to his utter delight.

Zack had planned to talk to Nancy about his cheat cheat cheat secret shortly after Nancy profusely apologized.

In memory of Tina Carter (Luisa Bradshaw-White), Zack discovered that Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth) was placing a plaque in The Albert.

At the time Nancy gave a touching speech about how much she appreciated Zack at the memorial, the Carter family was left horrified.

A picture of a half-naked Zack and a scantily dressed Sam at the door was depicted across The Albert, along with the message Package.

Fans compared the shocking revelation to the famous Sharongate storyline that sparked the soap world in the 1990s.

Sharongate was still married to his brother, Grant Mitchell, in the soaps'' most famous love triangles.

Sharon and Grant had a difficult marriage, and Sharon and Phil arranged a relationship behind their back. However, it was quickly exposed when Grant discovered a tape of Sharon confessing to the affair in his car.

During the Kathy and Phils engagement party, Grant played the confession tape in front of everyone at The Queen Vic, which went down in Walford history as one of the best episodes in 35 years.

Fans were able to express their gratitude for the explosive doof doof and its similarity to Sharongate, and one even claims that it is one of the best doofs in recent memory.

This is truly one of the finest doof doofs in recent memory. The way I was shocked when the image came out. It''s like Sharongate for the 21st century! #EastEnders https://t.co/ro7FKZobHmJune 21, 2022
