Ubisoft''s free-to-play 3v3 skater Roller Champions has been given a Switch release date, according to a new UK eShop listing. It''ll arrive on Nintendo''s platform tomorrow, 21st June, following its Xbox, PlayStation, and PC debuts last month.
Roller Champions is Ubisoft''s attempt at drafting its own chaotic sports mash-up in the vein of Rocket League, albeit one that rejects the latter''s car-meet-football premise for a fast-paced hybrid of competitive roller-skating, hockey, and football.
The plot is that two teams of three players strike around a track in an attempt to get the ball from one another. When one team finishes the ball, they must complete at least one lap before pelting it into the goal, with additional points added the more they can keep hold of it before taking a positive look.
Following the Xbox, PlayStation, and PC release, the internet did not appear to have exploded in an angry cliche, but Eurogamer''s Chris Tapsell liked it quite after its E3 2019 release, describing it as "honestly one of the demos I found hardest to tear myself away from."
When Roller Champions on Switch makes its debut on its eShop, it''s likely to support cross-play and cross-progression as a result of the game''s feature, but a mobile version has also been announced, but it is still awaiting a release date.
