The Pokemon Regional Championships, which take place all over the world, include attendance andChampionship Pointpayouts.
- Up to $50,000 in prizes, scholarships, and gift cards (based on attendance; up to $65,000 when Pokemon GO is also held)
- No qualifications or residency restrictions to enter TCG or video game events
Players of Pokemon TCG must have a legal 60-card deck for the Standard format. Pokemon video game players must have their own game system, their ownorgame, and a legal Pokemon team. Pokemon GO players must have a legal Pokemon team on their Pokemon GO account.
Players must have aPokemon Trainer Clubaccount, be in good standing with thePlay! Pokemon program, and comply with currentCOVID-19 requirements for large Pokemon events.
The Tournament Organizer is responsible for registering these events, and an entry fee may be charged at their discretion. Many Regional Championships require online registration, and events may sell out. Please check theEvent Locator for more information.
All Pokemon TCG Regional Championships will be held in theStandard format, although some might have expanded side events. The Pokemon Video Game Championship Series events will be played onandfor the entire 2022 season. Pokemon GO events will be based on the Great League format.
Most Regional Championships include both Pokemon TCG and video game competitions, but some also feature Pokemon GO. Some events may be exclusive to Pokemon TCG players or VGC players. See the following table for more details.
Regional Championships main events take place on Saturday and Sunday. Event listings that include a Friday date feature side events and smaller competitions on that day.
The above event schedule may be altered due to pending COVID regulations, and some event dates may move or be canceled outright. Please check with the Tournament Organizer for the most up-to-date information. If an event is canceled, we will do our best to give players as much notice as we can, but that information may be available first through the Tournament Organizer.
While we prefer not to cancel events, our safety and well-being are at our top priority. We have made the difficult decision to cancel the Regional Championships in Florida due to changes in government regulations and restrictions.

Prizes are awarded to top players in each age division. Players must have a Pokemon Trainer Club account with a Player ID and must have opted in to the Play! Pokemon program in order to earn points and awards.
The format of each prize is dependent on the age of the winner for the Pokemon TCG and Video Game Regional Championships. Here are the Regionals prizes for the 2022 Play! Pokemon Championship Series season.

Prizes are based on attendance per age division. Unless otherwise stated, all prizes are paid in US dollars and are subject to applicable tax deductions. Prize winners should consult a qualified tax professional regarding their tax obligations.
