The film will be released on Netflix later this year, based on Neil Gaiman''s dark fantasy cartoon, and features a star-studded cast.

The series follows Dream, also known as Morpheus, and others, who is one of the sevenEndless, a family of beings that areembodiments of natural forces and are believed to be older than any other supernatural being.

Neil Gaiman spoke about the different tones and styles used in the first part of Episode 1, saying, "You watch Episode 1 and think, Oh, I get this thing: It''s like, but with magic."

"Then youll be wondering, What the hell is this? By Episode 2, when youre encountering Gregory The Gargoyle in The Dreaming. If Episode 5 is about as horrifying and traumatic as it is, then youve got Episode 6, which is probably the most feel-good of all episodes."

"In 1916, Morpheus, the king of dreams and one of the seven Endless, was captured in an occult ritual. After being held captive for 105 years, he escapes and sets forth to restore order to his kingdom of the Dreaming."

Neil Gaiman said, "It will be scary, but there will be loads of different things". Because of the joy of Sandman, it''s a lot of different things in the soup, and you can sample all the flavours."
