Release Date, Trailer, Cast, and Everything You Need to Know About the Game of Thrones spin-off

It''s not far away right now!

While many people were concerned about the finale, HBO has envisioned releasing a slew of spin-offs based on their fantasy epic. The first series to begin is, which enlivens the legendary house Targaryen conflict that occurred 200 years before the original series'' events.

The original Naomi Watts-led movie was canceled before it even premiered. Jane Goldman''s story was planned for a 1000-year period, but it ended up being a concern for studio executives. However, the series''s losing momentum was not in favor of it.

"Jane Goldman is an incredible screenwriter, and I enjoyed working with her," George R.R. Martin said in a statement. "I do not know why HBO decided not to go to a series on this one, but I do not believe it had to do with it."

So far, here''s all we know about it...

House of the Dragon trailer

A couple of teasers have offered us some peeks at what''s in store for, but the official teaser trailer for gave us the show''s most spectacular look yet.

The film teases the "ugly game" of what will come in the new fantasy series and reveals us a few details about the plot; representatives from Westeros'' houses swearing fealty to King Viserys and his named inherit, Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen... however, there are clearly plenty of people who would sooner see the world burn than see the realm handed to a woman.

Check out the trailer below:

A second trailer for the previous one can be found here:

What''''s the plot of House of the Dragon?

The plot begins with Aegon''s Conquest, which established the new world order over much of Westeros and established the Iron Throne. From there, we follow the Targaryen dynasty as many kings and queens (both good and evil) rule over the Six Kingdoms.

This leads to a serious civil war between Aegon II and his half-sister, Princess Rhaenyra, who fight for the throne currently occupied by their father, Viserys I. Going by the trailers, this civil war will be the major focus of the program.

Battles, bloodshed, and plenty of dragons are all attainable. So, whatever you''d want to see in a show based on Martin''s work, get something done.

Where can I watch House of the Dragon?

HBO and HBO Max will be launching on the same day, so you''ll need an HBO account whether it be by your cable provider or HBO Max.

The UK will be able to watch the Sky TV series on Sky Atlantic or stream it on NOW TV.

Whos working on the series?

Ryan Condal () and Miguel Sapochnick are the showrunners for the series. Those who might recognize the latter as the director of several of the most famous programs, such as "Hardhome" and "The Battle of the Bastards."

He has even won the Emmy for Best Drama Series as an executive producer. Despite the anticipated rise in dragon-based violence, many are speculating that this show will be the most true-to-form of the planned spin-offs.

Clare Kilner () and Geeta V. Patel will direct the series. Greg Yaitanes () is a director and co-executive producer.

Ramin Djawadi, composer, has returned to the score.

House of the Dragon cast

It is packed with amazing talent. Here''s what HBO has to say about the cast:

Paddy Considine (the successor of the Old King) will play King Viserys Targaryen, who is described as a warm, kind, and capable man who only wants to continue his grandfather''s legacy. Consider this as a bet for how many people mistaken that kindness as weakness.

Alicent Hightower is the daughter of Otto Hightower, the King''s father, and has grown in the Red Keep (the castle on Aegon''s Hill in King''s Landing), close to the king and his inner circle. Alicent has a courtly grace and a keen political acumen.

Emma DArcy, the kings'' first-born child, is Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen, who is of pure Valyrian blood, and she is a dragonrider. Rhaenyra is almost everything a royal family could wish for in an heir... except she is not a man.

Matt Smith, the Doctor, who will play Prince Daemon Targaryen, the younger brother of King Viserys, and his successor to the royal throne, said that madness and greatness are two sides of the same coin. Every time a new Targaryen is born, he said, the gods toss the coin in the air and the world holds its breath to see how it will land.

Lord Corlys Velaryon, a Valyrian bloodline, joins the cast of Steve Toussaint. The Sea Snake is the most famous nautical adventurer in Westeros'' history. He built his house into a powerful position that is even higher than the Lannisters.

Eve Best will play Princess Rhaenys Velaryon, who is a dragonrider and wife to Lord Corlys Velaryon, and was named "The Queen Who Never Was," when she was passed over as heir to the palace at the Great Council as they preferred her cousin, Viserys.

Otto Hightower, the Hand of the King, is the greatest threat to the realm as both the King''s brother, Daemon, and his ability to inherit the throne.

Fans of Alex Garlands and will be honored to hear that Sonoya Mizuno has been cast as Mysaria. Her character came to Westeros with nothing and sold more times than she can recall. Instead, she rose to become the most trusted and most unlikely ally of Prince Daemon Targaryen, the heir to the throne.

Ser Criston Cole was conceived as Fabien Frankel of Dornish descent, but he has no claim to land or titles; there is only his honor and preternatural skill with a sword, according to a report. This gives us no clue about his potential to succeed.
