Years after the original release of Secret Final Fight, technology emerges

Butterfingers

I''m not going to roll out all over again, thanks to some of the regular Destructoid clan''s advice. I''m not going to be on the lookout again again, but I''m sure you''ll have to. Just know that I have dropped hours upon hours (upon hours) into Capcoms legendary brawler, and across myriad platforms, thus, I was left reeling by some recently rediscovered technology, which is hidden away deep inside the grindhouse gutter fighter.

The player, as noted by Japanese arcade fan @hijiyan_jp, is able to escape the death grip punishing by some of the most powerful villains, such as Andore and Abigail. This action is activated via a button command, which was impossible to perform on the original arcade cabinet, but remains built into the original ROM''s code as well as several home ports.

Here''s the science: is a two-button game (A/B), while the ROM contains a placeholder for a seemingly unidentified third button (C). This button, designed for developer usage only, allows Messrs Haggar, Cody, and Guy to escape from Andores grabs by pressing Up + C, dodging an energy-sapping chokehold or brutal tombstone piledriver. Given that the dedicated cabinet only two buttons, this escape was impossible for quarter-dropping children in the arcade

Although it''s possible to remap Button C, and thus gain access to the secret escape, weirder still believe this move has already been included in s home releases. Currently, Belt Action Central is reporting that SNES players need only hit Up + Attack to activate the grab-break, with the game Boy Advance release also featuring a different shifty get-out-clause. This secret function has been discovered on the sites page, highlighting an explanation of the mysterious Button C and its use.

So here you have it, fellow vigilantes, no longer piledriver danger I wish this shit would work on s Abigail. Anyway I have to run I have a personal best to beat.
