In July, Stellar's turn-based strategy Into the Breach will receive a free Advanced Edition upgrade

Subset Games, a form-based strategy game, is reintroduced four years after its first release, with the feature being a much-expanded Advanced Edition update for existing platforms set to be released on 19th July.

New squads, weapons, pilots (with new pilot abilities), enemies, bosses, missions, and new music from Ben Prunty in Into the Breach''s Advanced Edition upgrade. The new mode will also include seven new languages.

Alongside the upgrade for existing platforms, Into the Breach will make its iOS and Android debut on 19th July. This version will include the new Advanced Edition content and touch-screen support, but will only be available to Netflix subscribers as part of the slow and steady transition into gaming.

Into the Breach, if you''re unfamiliar, was already quite the treat even before its Advanced Edition promises. Set in a far-flung future where humanity must stop producing huge monsters known as the Vek by employing powerful mechs, it''s a sophisticated turn-based strategy game writ miniature.

"Into the Breach is," says Christian Donlan of his Recommended review in 2018. "All of these games come together to make Into the Breach, which is precise and brutal and complex and dizzying and utterly thrilling," he said. "In the end, Into the Breach is also FTL, in its delight in the glinting clockwork of failure, in its fascination with difficult choices, in surprising victories, and in a dramatic variation that works its strange magic within tight constraints."
