Clark Connors resurrects Tomohiro Ishii at the forbidden door

Another injury has prompted changes to the upcoming AEW x NJPW PPV. Tomohiro Ishii, who was scheduled to compete in a four-way game to honor the first All-Atlantic Champion, has been hospitalized, according to a spokesperson from the NJPW. As a result, Clark Connors will take over in order to take Ishii''s place in the match, including Miro, Pac, and Malakai Black.

The NJPW statement explains the following:

Thank you for your support for Pro-Wrestling in New Japan.

Tomohiro Ishii, who was scheduled to compete on June 26 at AEWxNJPW Presents Forbidden Door, has suffered a left knee injury and isn''t yet medically licensed to compete.

We apologise to fans who were eager to see Ishii wrestle and appreciate your understanding.

Clark Connors wins a hard-fought qualifying match in Korakuen Hall on June 21, bringing Ishii back to the All-Atlantic Championship four way at Forbidden Door. The card changes are as follows.

Four Ways to the AEW All-Atlantic Championship

PAC vs Miro vs Malakai Black vs Tomohiro Ishii-> PAC vs Miro vs Malakai Black vs Clark Connors

Bleeding Cool will have to update its boilerplate card text for copying and pasting in the bottom of our AEW articles for the remainder of the week. The new card is:

Jay White will win the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship against Hangman Page, Adam Cole, and Kazuchika Okada in a tragic four-way. Both the ROH World Tag Team Championships and the IWGP Tag Team Championships. And Will Ospreay will win the IWGP United States Championship against Orange Cassidy. Pac, Miro, Malakai Black, and Clark Connors will triumph in a fatal four-way to crown the first All-Atlantic Champion.

Zack Sabre Jr. will face a mystery opponent of Bryan Danielson''s choice, who will be the subject of their AEW debut. Chris Jericho will face with Minoru Suzuki and Sammy Guevara, who are going by Dudes with Attitude. On Friday, Max Caster and the Gunn Club will face The DKC, Kevin Knight, Alex Coughlin, and Yuya Uemura on the Buy-In preshow.

The event will take place at the United Center in Chicago on Sunday, June 26, and will be streamed on Bleacher Report (supposedly if you can log in), Fite TV, and NJPW World, as well as on traditional PPV services.
