Developer 343 Industries has announced that it is contemplating adding purchasable "Spartan Points" to Halo: Master Chief Collection in the near future.
The concept is that these new Spartan Points will be replaced with Season Points that exist in the game, and which allows players to purchase various cosmetics by completion of challenges and the like.
Don''t be afraid too much, however.
343 said it is a fan of how the Master Chief Collection''s current system works, with users being able to "[level] up through play." This will still be a viable option for those interested in doing it. The introduction of purchasable points would be more of a chance to offer players the option to speed up their progress if they wish.
343 proposed that paying for more Spartan Points would be a "optional, additive alternative" for players who may consider the vast scope of content to be an intimidating amount of playtime and want to get ahead on (or skip) the grind, or maybe want to get specific items they want.
The developer said he wanted to ensure it was transparent with its Halo community before officially introducing these microtransactions to the game, and that he expects further updates on the subject "in the near future."
