For the first time this season, contestants will wear secondhand or ''pre loved'' clothing in an effort to be more eco-friendly and engage spectators at home.
In order to achieve this, the ITV dating series is partnering with eBay, an online auction store who will serve as their pre-loved fashion partner for the next series, along with series sponsor Just Eat.
"We are very pleased to be collaborating with eBay this year as our pre-loved fashion partner," said the producer of 2022. As a show, we strive to be a more eco-friendly production, with a focus on demonstrating this on the screen more effectively."
Many of the stars who have gone on to become influencers and sign brand deals have been on the verge of becoming a celebrity, so the dating show and eBay are on the verge of encouraging viewers to select pre-loved before shopping for new items.
"It''s unquestionable how the stars of eBay UK are impacting on the United Kingdom, and together we want to encourage the nation to choose pre-loved first when shopping. Even if this means buying or selling one or two pre-loved items to start with, it''s a step in the right direction."
The Islanders'' shared pre-loved wardrobe will be designed by Amy Bannerman, whose clients include star Sophie Turner, and''s Jonathan Van Ness.
According to new insights from eBay, 20 percent of UK customers buy more secondhand clothing now than they did two years ago, and 16 percent of their wardrobes are now secondhand, thus progress is gradually becoming made.
This isn''t the only change to, as the 2022 contestants will be getting a brand new property, while remaining in their long-standing home in the Balearic Islands.
Not much has been revealed yet, but ITV head Kevin Lygo said producers were looking for a new villa and said: "We didn''t own it, we rented it, and we are planning to adopt a new property this summer so that is all about secret. It''s going to be fantastic."
Later this summer, ITV will be available.
