RWBY is a franchise founded by Rooster Teeth Animation, which has been very hard faced by its current owners. Like Ruby Rose and his company have previously seen video games, such as BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle as playable characters, and through several other games, such as the recently announced Paladins crossover pass.
Today isn''t a crossover or anything like that. Moreover, its a RWBY: Arrowfell video game, which was initially announced at RTX Austin 2022, and now being developed by WayForward. Its a side-scrolling action game, featuring an in-continuity storyline after the events of RWBY: Volume 7. The game has a new trailer to it.
In the trailer, you can see that the game follows a side-scrolling action format, and you may be able to switch between Ruby, Blake, Yang, and Weiss at any given time in combat or during platforming. Each of their Semblances also has gameplay limitations, although it is now used to solve puzzles in the environment.
Rubys Petal Burst permits her to go to distant platforms or avoid damage from enemies. Blakes Shadows can be attacked in tandem with her and be used in puzzles with more than one character, but Weisss Glyphs are designed to be for platforming purposes and attacking enemies below them, and Yang uses her Semblance, Burn, to damage adjacent enemies and destroy obstacles. These Combinances will also simplify solving the more complex puzzles.
A lot of RWBYs voice cast reprises their roles for the respective characters, including appearances from other characters like General Ironwood and Team BRIR. Other features include broadcast-quality cutscenes, an atmospheric soundtrack by Dale North, and the games'' new theme, performed by Casey Lee Williams.
A window has been confirmed for the release of the games in the Fall of 2022. RWBY: Arrowfell will be released on Steam for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC in the Fall of 2022.
