Steven Frederic Seagal was born in Lansing, Michigan, on April 10, 1952. At the age of five, he moved to Fullerton, California, with his parents Patricia and Samuel. After graduating from Buena Park High School in California, he attended Fullerton College.
When he was seventeen, he began practicing martial arts and began practicing aikido and Shito-ryu karate skills. When Seagal was born, she was encouraged to travel to Japan. Seagal was able to take over over the dojos they had established together with their partners as part of his exploration into other disciplines, including the film The Challenge and Never Say Never Again.
He made his acting debut in 1988s Above the Law, which was directed by Andrew Davis. Each of these films was a financial success at the box office and enhanced his potential as an action hero.
With the Andrew Davis-directed movie Under Siege, Seagal made his directorial debut in 1994. It was a big success for him because it focused so much on environmental and spiritual problems. Despite negative reviews, Seagal still thinks it as a key milestone in his career.
Under Siege 2: Dark Territory was released in 1995, the sequel to his most popular film Under Siege.
