Fans eagerly await Season 4 part 1 on Netflix on May 27, apparently spoilers for the next season have already been revealed through an unlikely source, the board game Monopoly.

According to a The Hollywood Reporter and a Reddit thread, a promotional version of Monopoly for season 4 includes cards that are likely to be useful for the season. In fact, the Reddit post is from April. Images have leaked online, although we will not share them here.

According to the Reddit column, the game was officially licensed and purchased at a "nationally recognized retailer fair and square," adding, "nobody stole it; no one leaked a sample." The Hollywood Reporter says the details are unconfirmed.

The Duffer Brothers, a Netflix and its creators, were unsurprised about the situation. Apparently the Duffer Brothers were not educated about the game and are experiencing a "severe meltdown."

According to a Hollywood Reporter, while Netflix does have authority for tie-in promotional materials such this, there''s a large amount of such materials, and the Monopoly board game is likely to get destroyed with spoilers.
