Season 4 of Barry is coming to an end, with Bill Hader's all eight episodes being directed

Fans of Bill Hader and Alec Berg''s have already had a glimmer of hope for the future. This afternoon, the cable company announced that the dark comedy had been renewed for a fourth season, but there will be even more work to be done in June (yup, next month). D''Arcy Carden is also joining Hader as the cast of Season 3.

Here''s a look back at the official trailer for HBO''s Barry this season:

Barry (Bill Hader) is attempting to escape the realm of contract killing and fully immerse himself in acting. However, getting out is difficult. Although Barry has eliminated many of the external traits that pushed him towards violence, he soon discovers they weren''t the only forces at play. What happened to his own fear that led him to become a killer in the first place?

The first two seasons of the critically-acclaimed series have received a total of thirty Emmy nominations and six Emmys, including Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series (Hader); Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series (Winkler); Outstanding Sound Mixing for a Comedy or Drama Series (Half-Hour) and Animation. "I''m so happy to announce that we are picking up the fourth season," said Amy Gravitt, executive vice president of HBO Programming.
