While Tom King and Greg Smallwood may be taking a break from March to September, enthusiasts seeking for a little more PTSD in comic book form may expect a brief respite in August with the publication of, a prequel one-shot that will get you in the mood for the series'' return a month later.
DC Comics'' press release reveals the following things:
The Human Target, which is serving as bodyguard Lex Luthor, is poisoned and in a war with time to discover who is responsible. On August 23, celebrated writer Tom King and a host of fan-favorite artists including Kevin Maguire and Greg Smallwood met to discuss what happened before Chance drank the poison. In Tales of The Human Target, Christopher Chance is in a relationship.
Christopher Chance joins forces with members of the Justice League International, some of whom have already been heavily involved in this story in four connecting mysteries. This 48-pager includes a cover by artist Smallwood (Batman/Superman: World''s Finest, Batman: Killing Time, Justice League) and a 1 in 25 ratio variant cover from returning Batman artist Jorge Jimenez on sale July 5th. Check your local comic book store for availability and pre-ordering information.
DC considers the collection of the series akin to the "collective edition."
The Human Target Book One is a great way to catch up on the series until the second half of September, mainly for those who have missed individual issues of the series and want to catch up all at once.
