Sony is lowering PS5 Accolades, but it encourages users to send positive messages to each other

Not enough PS5 players used Accolades, so they are going to be out sometime this autumn.

Sony intends to suspend the purchase of the Accolades product on PlayStation 5, but if you have a PS5, you are not alone. Accolades was originally intended as a way for PS5 players to express their gratitude for others in online multiplayer games.

Accolades, like Helpful, Good Sport, Leader, and Welcoming, are all displayed in players profiles.

Yeah, you may think that a good idea, right? Sony said in a new letter today that it will discontinue PS5 Accolades due to reduced usage.

The Accolades version on PlayStation 5 will no longer be supported in fall of 2022. We are now focused on improving our abilities. We encourage the community to continue to send positive messages to each other.

With the PlayStation Stars loyalty program on the way, I wonder if there is room to be able to encourage positive player interactions.

In your PS5 profile, you may see your Accolades.

I have no real understanding of sending or receiving any PS5 Accolades, but I was curious enough to double-check my profile, and the results speak of themselves:

Two trophies!

Nowadays, im not much of an online multiplayer person, but the PS5 is arguably my most-used platform, so even if I expected a few, I wouldn''t think it would be.

I dislike the idea of giving other players kudos for going beyond and, let''s be honest, just not being a jerk all in this chaos together. If youve played highly competitive games like, you may feel similarly; you become to cherish the positive online experiences after having spent so many hours.

In this case, I''m certain that there was a sufficient incentive for players to care about the PS5 Accolades long-term. A lack of awareness about this feature didn''t help matters.

Although it''s not a direct comparison, my favorite youre doing great! The cute little stickers in the series are so fun to use at the moment.
