Big Brother will make a surprise comeback in 2023

is coming back in 2023, and it has a brand new home!

ITV has revealed that the iconic reality series will premiere next year and that it will be broadcasted on ITV2 and ITV''s next streaming service, ITVX.

The new series of shows the first new UK entry in the show''s format in over five years. In 2000, the hit reality show ran for 11 seasons (along with seven seasons of and a final edition of ), then made the jump to Channel 5 for a further 8 seasons plus a 15 extra celebrity series, before going on hiatus in 2018 (although other versions have continued to air around the globe).

During an ad session on ITV2, a teaser with the logo and the classic theme song was first teased during the final episode of 2022.

ITV has expressed hope that the series will be perfect both for the original audience and for new viewers. Once again, a fresh cast of carefully chosen housemates from every walk of life is going into the house next year.

The cameras will capture housemates'' daily lives for six weeks, and we''ll be watching how they get on. More tasks and tense nominations are expected to make a big comeback, as ITV promises that the public will play a key role in deciding who will be named the winner and walked away with a life-changing cash prize.

As part of the revamp, ITV intends to revamp the property and modify its appearance to ensure that it''s ready for the new cast to reside.

Paul Mortimer, the director of reality commissioning and acquisitions and controller of ITV2, said: "This new, contemporary series of will contain all of the familiar format points that kept viewers engaged and entertained the first time round, but with a brand new appearance and some additional twists that speak to today''s audience."
