At EVO2022, don't expect a Mortal Kombat 12 announcement

People who are looking for a Mortal Kombat 12 announcement at EVO 2022 should keep an eye on them.

Because series creator Ed Boone has said the same thing.

According to Boone, the tournament''s focus belongs to other combat games.

"It''s time for Street Fighter and other professional fighting games to be in the sun," said the narrator. "Let''s relax.

The last game in the Mortal Kombat series was released in 2019; the game improved by 2020, with the addition of three new characters, three new stages, as well as the return of stage fatalities, and the friendship finishing move. Later in 2020, a version of the game, Mortal Kombat 11: Ultimate, was released.

This year''s roster includes Dragon Ball FighterZ, Granblue Fantasy Versus, Guilty Gear - Strive, Melty Blood: Type Lumina, Street Fighter 5: Champion Edition, Tekken 7, and The King of Fighters 15.

Super Smash Bros., which Nintendo stated in February would not be included in this year''s strategy, is not included in the list.

EVO 2022 takes place from August 5-7 at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.
