Today is expected to be a better day (so far, at least) as a result of the fact that fans who have been waiting forLaszlo (Matt Berry), Colin (Mark Proksch), Nadja (Natasia Demetriou), Guillermo (Harvey Guillen) and Nandor (Kayvan Novak) to return can mark down July 12th on their calendars for the fourth season. As for the "American Horror Story" spinoff series,
Guillen took some time to talk with Vulture about the Guillermo-Nandor dynamics, his character''s evolution, Guillermo''s sexuality, and more. Here are some of the highlights (and here''s a look back at Bleeding Cool''s conversation with Guillen here and here).
"I think everyone''s pledging for something to happen, whether that''s romantic or [having] some truth be told what they have? At the end of the day, they are very blessed to have a strong partner like Keyvan, who is both so helpful in the characters, and Keyvan, who is phenomenal. It''s a split 50-50 between someone who is unimpressive and no longer anxious about time, and someone who needs to make a choice and live a life that does not include this world."
Fans of That Said, Guillen are surprised at how much they put forth, and it''s a hard task to be in front of them. Even when I''m reading the scripts, it feels very, "Oh my God, what''s going to happen?" Because I think people are like, "Oh, I know, what''s going to happen?" Perhaps it''s a love between two men, and we generally normalize two individuals without making it sexualized? That''s all.
Guillermo Has Held the Position of a Character, but He''s No Victim, and That''s Important: "It''s important to recognize that you''re recognized and that you''re acknowledging that they''re not being the victim of violence, or that their queer narrative does not define how tragic the outcome of their lives is." Because we''ve always witnessed that, in the way that queer people are depicted, and that you''re either fantastic and over-the-top, or you''
Guillermo maintains that he is made a monster, in the sense of Nandor being helpless. In some situations, he may be "The Relentless" because he never relents, but may not be the smartest in others, when he comes back back to his house, and that''s why he sticks around. Remember, he left the household at the end of season two and decided to go back and save them. He could have been the victim of a life of immortality
Guillermo isn''t going big bad, but he''s learning more about playing the game, because he''s so good that he''s learned to do things by the book, and he''s not getting anywhere. In this world, modesty can savor you, but you need to speak up, you must pay for something, and you deserve a promotion. Sadly, in a lot of other professions, I''m aware.
Kayvan Novak, led by JJ Productions, plays Nandor, Natasia Demetriou, Matt Berry, and Harvey Guillen as Guillermo. With Scott Rudin, Garrett Basch, Eli Bush, and Stefani Robinson, the producers of films and programs.
