Obliterated: Kimi Rutledge will lead action comedy from the Cobra Kai EPs

Kimi Rutledge will lead Jon Hurwitz, Hayden Schlossberg, and Josh Heald''s action comedy. She''ll face off against Nick Zano () and Shelley Hennig, who was originally cast for the Sony Pictures TV series for Netflix.

The story of an elite Special Forces team who has harmed a deadly threat to Las Vegas, but it is quickly discovered that a bomb they deactivated was a fake. The now-intoxicated team must overcome their personal challenges, find the real bomb, and save the world. Rutledge, a Japanese man, will play Maya, a young NSA technology expert in the field for the first time.

The second installment of the Hulu TV series is currently in production, with Hurwitz, Schlossberg, and Heald as executive producers, along with Dina Hillier of Counterbalance Entertainment. Rutledge was previously in the Hulu series, and will also feature in the upcoming indie thriller.

Zano was a host on The CW series, which was canceled in 2022 after seven seasons. He first played in in 2016 before joining the Arrowverse spinoff. She appeared in the iOS TV+ series and the Guardian TV series. The fifth season of the series will be released on Netflix on September 5th. | Deadline Hollywood
