Microsoft begins testing for the Xbox Game Pass familyplan with Insider

You might recall reports that Microsoft was working on a new family plan for Game Pass. These reports, however, were true, and an Insider Preview test of the new program is now available in a relatively limited number of countries.

The Xbox Insider trial version of the program will allow anyone with a special Insider Preview Game Pass membership to share, with each individual having immediate access to the entire range of games, content, and benefits.

The immediate advantage is that the test is only available to those in Colombia and Ireland. While Insiders don''t require to be an Insider, they do also need to have a Microsoft account and must be resident in the same country.

Insiders in the relevant testing room will first need to purchase the aforementioend Insider Preview Game Pass program from the Microsoft Store.

Those with an already active Game Pass subscription will then be allowed to convert their time to the new membership level based on their previous financial value. As an example, Microsoft claims that a full month of Ultimate will equate to 18 days of membership after conversion, implying that - unsurprisingly - the family plan will cost substantially more than a standard subscription.
