Blaine Simple, a YouTuber for Dungeons & Dragons, has assembled with other notable artists from the world of D&D YouTube to develop a new party game.

Fight the Blight behaves like a King of the Hill party game, with two to six players fighting to be the last player left alive. Each session takes about 15 minutes to half an hour.

In an attempt to infect their opponents, players utilize defense and utility cards to boost their attack force, while utility cards offer one-time benefits that assist players in building up their supplies. However, drawing cards may be as risky as death cards are causing an infection that cant be healed.

No player elimination is possible, according to Munchkin''s style. Instead, defeated players become zombies who can regain their mortality and still take the victory. If a zombie takes down the player with the golden chalice - represented by a miniature goblet in the box - they return to life.

Each player character has different abilities, which combined with a Festering curse that gives the player who kills them a unique bonus. There are eight different characters in the core box, from The Inventor and The Psychic to The Bodybuilder and The Shut-In, each with their own unique gameplay features.

The game features cameos from a number of other notable names from across YouTube and Blaines'' own friendship group, including A Crap Guide to Dungeons & Dragons animator JoCat, D&D storyteller CritCrab, D&D influencer Davvy Chappy. In the first print run, the group, who contributed to the game, appears as playable characters. The cards include custom artwork from the creators.

The first expansion of Dark Past vs. Doomed Future, which includes eight new characters, are joined by dozens of new attack, defense, and utility cards inspired by fantasy and sci-fi. The characters also include dozens of new weapons, as well as extra weapons to help you fight for victory.

All cards are embroiled in a recognisable art technique called Blaines, and they include references to everything from Elden Ring to, of course, Dungeons & Dragons.

Blaine Simple is known for developing popular animated films inspired by Dungeons & Dragons, including videos on what your favourite D&D race/weapon/feat/class says about you and specific stories - from hijinks using the wish spell to having players take down a final boss in one round of combat.

As part of the Anime in the D&D series, the YouTuber has added a number of D&D supplements that include items, character creation options, and monsters inspired by popular anime series - including Demon Slayer, My Hero Academia, and Fullmetal Alchemist - and tropes to the tabletop RPG.

The first card game for Fight the Blight was created by Blaines, who took two years to complete.

Fight the Blight is now available for pre-order, ahead of its release in August.
