Hard Knocks: Detroit Lions Aidan Hutchinson sings Michael Jackson, and fans are panicked

Football enthusiasts are interested in doing something similar to the NFL regular season, and it is returning to its full potential.

Season 17 of the Detroit Lions training camp is here. Whether you are a Lions fan or not, the season premiere included a number of memorable moments for everyone.

The Detroit Lions are one of the NFL''s oldest franchises, but they are also one of the most misigned. The Lions have never won a Super Bowl and have often than not lost their position in the NFL standings. Coach Dan Campbell is aware of this and has walked off the season with a NSFW speech about his desire to improve his team''s capabilities.

The highlight from the teams early meeting was the willingness of rookie defensive end Aidan Hutchison.

Many teams like to welcome their rookies to the NFL in awkward ways. Hutchinson, who was the second overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, did an a cappella rendition of "Billie Jean," which fumbles the first line of the song, but it never beat them back (and fans on social media).

Malcolm Rodriguez, a fellow rookie, performed during the premiere, opting to perform a salsa dance. Wonder if these rookie performances will happen throughout the season? Whoever is up next has a high bar to clear.

Hutchinson was one of the few current players who received a spotlight in episode 1. Instead, former players who are now coaches proved to be a focus, particularly Duce Staley and Aaron Glenn.

Dan Campbell, who previously played in the NFL, has expanded his coaching staff with a number of former players: Mark Brunell, Antwan Randle El, Kelvin Sheppard, Hank Fraley, and other notable players. However, Duce Staley, assistant head coach/running backs coach Aaron Glenn, are among the players who have certainly not lost their trash talking edge.

During practice, the two were shown constantly jawing at each other as if they were the ones suitsing up and hitting. It was intense and funny:

Jamaal Williams, a running back, was asked to give a speech at the end of the team''s first practice, but Williams responds to a warm open that would only have anyone looking to walk through a brick wall.

We knew Jamaal Williams would be star for Hard Knocks'' season of the Lions.Thought it would be for his humor. This speech is uplifting:(Video via @Lions) pic.twitter.com/r6WKucmjK0August 8, 2022

As you can see how this happens on the field, the Lions should feature footage from their first preseason game on episode 2.

Hard Knocks episode 1: additional highlights

  • Campbell hasnt let go of some of his old player habits, as he did up/downs with his team despite, as he put it, having a "jacked up wrist" from falling in his house.
  • Undrafted rookie Obinna Eze, who is going to be fighting for a roster spot, shared his college recruiting experience (he went to Memphis, though did eventually transfer to TCU) as someone coming from Nigeria still relatively new to football
  • The end credits were a blast, with outtakes that featured Duce Staley laying his ground rules for team meetings and ahem well just say bathroom etiquette and Dan Campbell unable to resist a "deez nuts" joke.

HBO and HBO Max have new episodes of Tuesdays at 10 pm ET/PT. All episodes are on-demand on HBO Max.
