In the upcoming Captain America event, Marvel Comics has been easing the return of Nomad, which was first revealed at San Diego Comic-Con this year. I described it as a "Cap America event" that reunites the two other Captain America titles and reveals the truth about the conspiracy behind the creation of Captain America back when and also bringing back Nomad. Just a different Nomad. Someone we have previously seen but Marvel promises it will be a shocker. And with lasting repercussions across the Marvel Universe
The odds are that this will also result in the MCU being given a Nomad of some lines, Marvel, who introduced the word "Marvel Comics Nomad" a while ago. Ian Rogers, the extra-dimensional adopted son of Steve Rogers, has played the role before.
In Captain America #282, Steve Englehart and Sal Buscema fashioned it as an alternate identity for the original Captain America, Steve Rogers back in 1982. J. M. DeMatteis brought it back to Jack Monroe, who was then named captain of Captain America #282. It''s possible that it could be any of them, all of them, or someone else.
The original appearance of Nomad is up for auction from Heritage Auctions today, in a 9.0 CGC slab, under the hammer, totaling bids of $51. Could this be the start of a Nomad revival in one form or another?
