As the fourth season of HBO Max''s wraps a heavy bow of filming, showrunner Greg Walker offers some insight on what they can expect from star (and fan)Titus Welliver''s Lex Luthor. From how Welliver surprised Walker with his reaction to Walker''s pitch and why Lex is a different threat to our heroes, here''s a look at the highlights:
Walker was not able to sell "giant fan" Welliver on the Role: "You usually have to do this entire dog-and-pony show to get an actor to do it. But when I got him to kind of lure him in, I couldn''t get a word. He''d seen every episode of the show and could tell me several things, and it was the most unexpected call I''ve ever had."
"He has a very sensitive, compassionate approach to evil and power, except that, like many people, he is personable. He is also curious about his character, and he knows about others, and how they''re different from him. He also understands and appreciates his own power and his own inadequacy, and tries to compensate for both.
Conner (Joshua Orpin) will face that aspect of Who He Is: "We''re really going deeper in all these characters and shaking them up. What shook Conner up is a personal story. When you give that self the keys to the automobile, what does it begin driving the wrong way at rush hour [at] 100 miles an hour?"
