Repos Production, the studio behind 7 Wonders and Just One, has released its next co-op party board game.
Fun Facts is a family-friendly game based on the upcoming Just One that was awarded the Spiel des Jahres, the highest accolade a board game can have, in 2019 and last years So Clover! It allows players to think about their answers in an appropriate order. Designed to support from four to eight people, Fun Facts is allowing its players to respond to their questions in the correct order.
Fun Facts is a co-op board game that requires players to review what they know about each other and trust that their fellow players will be able to grasp what theyre thinking. Each round begins with a question being drawn and placed in the middle of the table. One example of the publisher is How long is the perfect nap? Players then secretly pen their answer on the other side of the arrow that matches their player colour, before writing their name on the other side.
Each player''s arrow is placed in line with the position being determined by what they think everyone else is doing. For example, a player might argue that someone else''s definition of a good nap is longer than theirs, thus they will place their answer behind them. Once everyone has placed their arrows down in the order they believe is correct, players answers are revealed. For each arrow that is in the incorrect place is too high or too low, it is removed.
The players then add up all of the remaining arrows before continuing with a new round and a fresh question. At the end of eight rounds, the groups score is tallied and recorded in the games scorebook, with the goal being to achieve the highest total possible.
Kasper Lapp, the creator of Magic Maze, a board game involving players traveling in a labyrinth to collect treasure and escape, created Fun Facts. Dinosaurs is a board game based on the creation of an ecosystem of prehistoric animals to inhabit their planet.
Repos Production is responsible for releasing the two-player spin-off 7 Wonders Duel and Concept, a tabletop title aimed at attempting to convey ideas using simple images.
Fun Facts is yet to get a release date or retail price, with the game expected to be available for preview at the Essen Spiel 2022 convention next month.
